Hundreds pack bridge in tax day protest

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Hundreds of Lafayette-area residents are joining thousands across the nation in a tax day protest.

These protesters gathered to protest what they call government overspending.

Concerned citizens are expected to toss tea bags into the wabash river, a move that some environmental groups say is littering.

Organizer Jared Fagan said that the part of the purpose of the protest is to make a stand for limited government, and to call attention to the fact that there are limits to what the federal government is legally able to do, and that many rights belong to the states and the people.
